What is Zero Rally?
The Zero Rally is an annual rally for zero- or low emissions cars – electric cars, hydrogen cars, plug-in hybrids, and biofuels vehicles. The 2012 Zero Rally will go along the Green Highway, the world’s longest electric car highway, between Sundsvall, Sweden, and Trondheim, Norway. The Zero Rally starts in Östersund, Sweden, on June 14th, and ends in Trondheim, Norway, on June 16th.
The rally showcases zero- or low emission cars as practical, user friendly and fun alternatives to traditional and polluting fossil cars.
ZERO –the Zero Emission Resource Organisation – is an independent climate foundation, working to limit human-made climate changes and meet the world’s growing energy demand without damaging the environment.
Green Highway works to establish a fossil free highway through Mid-Scandinavia, and to show that green technology can strengthen the economy and increase regional competitiveness.
Gröna Bilister is the only environmentally focused motor organisation. As a non-profit organsiation it has no ties to the car or fuel industry. Gröna Bilister works for the best transportation solutions for the environment.
This is the fourth annual Zero Rally, and the first time the rally passes through more countries than Norway.
